We can help you to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act

The Disability Discrimination Act protects disabled people from discrimination in areas of education, employment and access to goods and facilities. It is now unlawful to treat disabled people less favourably than others, and service providers must make reasonable adjustments to premises to overcome physical barriers to access and to provide auxiliary aids for disabled people.

Hi Kent can provide induction loops, text telephones and other equipment to meet the requirements of the DDA for deaf and hard-of-hearing people.   Call on the experience Hi Kent has accumulated over many years, we will be happy to discuss how your organisation can comply with the Act. We will be happy to visit your premises within Kent, or neighbouring counties.

DEAF CHARITY OFFERING NEW CHRISTMAS PRESENT IDEAS

The county's deaf and hard of hearing charity Hi Kent is offering an exclusive selection of hand-crafted wooden Christmas decorations, which it hopes will boost its fundraising efforts.

The charity is stocking a range of new items including 3D nativity sets, candles, decorative trees, owls with crystal eyes and napkin rings, at prices which start at just £2.50.

The full range, including Christmas Cards and Puddings, is now available at Hi Kent's centres at 18 Brewer Street, Maidstone, and 46 Northgate, Canterbury.

Hi Kent's John Clayton said: "It isn't easy to find something different to give as Christmas Presents, and we're sure that our new range will appeal to people of all ages."
